Golf course bird life

Coming from an area in Canada beside the Great Lakes, where it rains frequently & is generally more densely populated with both trees & people, I am surprised at how many birds I see & hear in Omaha. On our neighbouring golf-course, the red-winged blackbirds seem to almost flock at this nesting time, along with plovers, greckles, a small reed-nesting tanager-like bird, & of course, mallards & Canada geese. At evening time, dozens of swallows swoop over the ponds, snatching larvae from the surface of the water without stopping. Their eye & air-control is wonderful to observe.
